Cardinal Figure Skating Team
Since its inception, skaters at the Cardinal Figure Skating School have been aspiring to belong to the Cardinal Figure Skating Team. We are proud that participation on this team has been earned, not by way of popularity contests, but by way of skating ability and achievement, skill, hard work, commitment and positive attitude. We are also proud that the skaters on the team have continued to grow and achieve throughout the year, working to pass more skating tests and participating in competition.
We also brag of the continued support, dedication and volunteerism of team members who have donated endless hours assisting with Learn-to-Skate classes and projects that are associated with the school.

Theater Ensemble
We are excited to offer a new opportunity for growth in our program. New this year, we will be adding an extension of the CFST that will explore creativity on ice, expression of theme, story and emotion through choreography, performance, costuming and props. We will work with activities that support construction of a performance routine. This class will incorporate technical skating skills, including double jumps and flying spins, advanced footwork, power, and partnering and will be offered to skaters who have passed a minimum of the Juvenile Freestyle test.
To be a member in good standing of the 2008-09 team, all skaters will:
-
Have passed the minimum test requirements as stated above.
-
Take private lessons from a coach of your choice at least once per week.
-
Spend a minimum of 3 hours on-ice practice per week.
-
Be a member of a US Figure Skating club.
-
Commit to mandatory attendance for team practice.
-
Be punctual for all practices and rehearsals.
-
Purchase and wear a CFST uniform for all practices.
Classes will be held on Sunday evenings from 7-8:30 pm. Your attendance at practices is mandatory, as absences are problematic for the entire team. Additional rehearsals on ice, or off, will be called before the show in March.
